Meet The Team

Jeff Krantz, Agent/Broker, is the founder of Krantz and Associates and has been affiliated with Lake of the Ozarks for over 37 years. His parents owned Point Breeze Resort from 1969 to 1982, and remained second homeowners after that time. Jeff's love of the lake resulted in becoming a full time resident in 1990. Jeff has been in the Real Estate Industry since 1993 and has a background in accounting. Jeff enjoys the challenges of the Real Estate Industry and loves working with his wife, Melissa. Jeff and Melissa have three children, Kassy, Jacob and Zach. Jeff is confident that Krantz and Associates has the ability to assist first time home buyers as well as experienced commercial investors. 

Melissa Krantz, Buyer's Specialist, Melissa has been aquainted with the Lake area since the late 1970s because her family vacationed here for years. She moved here permanently in 1994. Melissa has a background in Education and Restaurant/Hotel Management. She joined the Real Estate business with Jeff soon after he began his career in Real Estate. Melissa absolutely loves Real Estate because "It is a wonderful career that allows you to work with many wonderful people." Melissa also enjoys spending time with her family and her children, Kassy, Jacob and Zach.  

Gary Zeiger, Buyer's Specialist, moved to the Lake from the St. Louis area where he was upper level Manufacturing Management. Gary has a wide range of experience in Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Property Management. He has always been involved in Real Estate. He has also designed and built several homes himself. A native of Red Bud, Illinois, Gary has two children, enjoys boating, fishing, and other outdoor recreational activities. If you are looking for an Agent that will work diligently to find what you want and who has a wide range of experience in all aspects of Real Estate, you should call Gary.  

Sam Rhoades, Broker Salesman, is celebrating his 25th year in Real Estate He began his career in Southern Missouri where he owned and operated a RE/MAX office. Sam is a graduate of the University of Missouri and enjoys hunting and sports. He has a daughter now attending Medical School at his alma mater. Sam was born and raised on a small farm in Missouri where he learned "down home values" at an early age, and practices those values each day with his clients.  

Jim Watson, Buyer's Specialist, is originally from the Chicago area. Real Estate opportunities and his love of the lake brought him here full time. His wife and their two children reside on beautiful Big Island. He previously owned and operated a local marina and has always been involved in Real Estate. His interest, along with his broad sales experience has allowed him to become a valuable agent to the Krantz team.  

Gerry Hammack, Buyer's Specialist, ABR, retired from the Social Security Administration in the spring of 2001. Gerry and her husband decided that it was the perfect time to make the lake their permanent home. They had been vacationing at the lake for over 25 years and knew that this is where they wanted to retire. Being a "people person", and not ready to retire, the Real Estate business was a perfect fit for her. She is very enthusiastic and loves meeting and working with buyers to find the perfect lake property. Customer service, honesty and integrity are very important to Gerry. 

Jill Krantz, Buyer's Specialist, moved to the lake after graduating from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing. She began working at Krantz & Associates as the Closing Coordinator. As her enthusiasm for Real Estate grew, she realized she wanted to be out helping people find the perfect place to call home! Her husband Matt, builds homes at the lake, so Real Estate comes naturally to them. With her energy and drive she is the just the right person to help find property that fits you and your family! 

John Garrett, Buyer’s Specialist, has been in sales since he graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, MO with a degree in Business Administration. John has been licensed to sell real estate since 1995 and was named the Broker/Manager of RE/MAX Lake of the Ozarks in 2002. John joined the Krantz and Associates team in 2007. As the manager of such a successful and productive real estate office, John has to stay on top of real estate contracts, procedures, and ethics, so you can be sure your needs will be handled professionally and correctly when you work with John. John has been very involved with many local charities such as YMCA and the Lake Hospital, and his favorite pastime is boating with his family. 

Amanda Wood, Listing Coordinator, is native to the lake area and has a background in the title business. Amanda is responsible for processing our listings. This includes entering all information into our MLS system and our database, which allows your property to be available to all prospective buyers. She also provides our clients with feedback about showings. Amanda is very enthusiastic and easy to work with. 

Carrie Case, Marketing and Design Coordinator, moved from Colorado with a background in marketing and graphic design, but has roots in the Lake area. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Columbia College in Lake Ozark. She is responsible for our marketing plan and comprehensive advertising campaign. She maintains our web sites, creates mailers and other marketing materials, submits photos and verbiage for print publications and online sites. She looks forward to marketing your property here at the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks.

Melaine Bohning, Closing Coordinator, moved from Kansas City in 1995. After relocating to the lake, she acquired her Real Estate license in 1996 and has worked in the profession ever since! Melaine oversees a contract from the day an offer is accepted until the buyer receives ownership. She handles all the myriad of details regarding the title work, inspections, deed, loan approval, appraisal, utility changes, moving dates and escrow. She’ll make sure that you have a smooth transition throughout the closing process. 

Bob Hampton & Glenn Maas, Client Services. Bob became a member of our team after purchasing a home that was listed by Krantz & Associates. Bob's outgoing and pleasant personality makes him a highly regarded member of our team. Glenn Maas became a recent member of our team after retiring and moving to the lake area from St. Louis. Prior to retirement, Glenn worked for a major telecommunications company with the majority of his career in marketing and customer support. Among Bob & Glenn’s diverse responsibilities are new listing photography, document transport, sign maintenance and installation, lock box placement, and serving as a liaison between the customer and the team in completing tasks and meeting deadlines.

What happens when you are interested in purchasing property that is being sold by the same real estate agency in charge of your buying needs? You may have concerns about a dual buyer/seller agent. Will this form of agency protect your interests, or that of the seller? Will you as buyer be able to share confidential information about your needs?

In states where dual agency is legal, the real estate agent will serve the needs of both parties fully, because good business practices and professional integrity require honesty and fairness. If a buyer and seller are both represented by the same agency, they will be asked to sign a dual agent contract acknowledging the affirmative obligations of the real estate agent. Neither party should fear being shortchanged because the other party's interests will come first. Because the real estate agent will honor the code of confidentiality, both parties may share sensitive information without undue anxiety.

A reputable real estate agency will help to reach a satisfactory outcome to negotiations for both parties in the transaction.
